Advanced framing uses techniques that minimize lumber and prevents areas from being able to receive installation.
Here are some examples:
Only installing headers above windows or doors on walls that are load bearing.
Correctly size beams and headers and place ridge insulation between 2x material on exterior walls.
Install 2×6 exterior walls at 24″ on center spacing instead or 2×4 at 16″ on center. This reduces material and increase insulation value.
Incorporate california corners and ladder blocking to avoid voids that can’t be insulated.
